PRIVACY

LAST UPDATED 3 AUGUST 2026

BLEP has no accounts, no analytics, no trackers and no advertising. Everything stays on your device unless you choose to put a score on the world leaderboard — and even then, all that travels is a name you made up and a list of reaction times.

WHAT IS STORED

The game saves a handful of values in your browser's local storage — or in the app's own sandbox, if you installed it from an app store. This stays on your device. We cannot read it, and it is not backed up to us.

One further value, blep_sid, lives in session storage rather than local storage: a random number used only for the live player count, erased the moment you close the tab. See below.

Clearing your browser data, or deleting the app, erases all of it permanently. There is no copy anywhere else.

WHAT IS NOT COLLECTED

THE LEADERBOARD

There are two. The device board is yours alone and never leaves your phone. The world board is shared, and only receives anything when you choose to submit a score.

If you submit, three things are sent: the six-character name you typed, your reaction times for that run, and nothing else. No account, no identifier, no way to connect one submission to another. Pick a different name next time and there is nothing linking the two.

To stop one person flooding the board, the server keeps a salted hash of your IP address for 24 hours, then erases it. The salt is regenerated daily and discarded, so an old hash cannot be reversed or matched to an address even by us. Your actual IP address is never written down.

If you never tap submit, nothing is uploaded at all. The game is fully playable without ever touching the world board.

THE LIVE PLAYER COUNT

The menu shows how many people have the game open at that moment. To count you without knowing who you are, your browser invents a random number when the page loads and says "still here" every twenty-five seconds.

That random number is kept in your browser's session storage, which lasts only as long as the tab is open. Reloading the page keeps it, so a refresh does not count you twice; closing the tab erases it permanently, and a new tab starts with a fresh one. It is never shared between tabs and never survives to a later visit, so there is no way to tell that two visits came from the same person.

Nothing else is recorded: no scores, no IP address, no browser details, and nothing about how you played. Entries are deleted a few minutes after you leave, so the list only ever describes who is here now, never a history of who played when.

It is also kept completely separate from the leaderboard. The two share no identifier, so a score can never be traced back to a session.

CHILDREN

BLEP is suitable for all ages. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children either.

WHO ELSE IS INVOLVED

The world leaderboard is hosted on Supabase, which stores the submitted names, reaction times and the temporary hash described above on our behalf. Nobody else receives anything. The game loads no fonts, scripts, or images from any other company — everything you see is served from this site alone.

CHANGES

If a future version adds advertising, this page will be updated to say exactly what changed before that version ships.
